The 20-Something Series

Created during my residency at Meredith College in the fall of 2024, these five paintings depict the early 20’s era of life. Through experimental painting techniques and collaboration with my community, I created a visual diary or inner dialogue representing the experience of being a 20-something.

Mountain Landscapes

A series of small oil paintings on wood panels portraying the mountains of North Carolina through an abstracted approach. The thick layers of oils create visual depth, demonstrating the array of color and value in the shadows and peaks of this beloved region.

The Down East Collection

A series dedicated to the feelings of autumn on the Outer and Inner Banks of North Carolina. Blurred and expressive brushstrokes of burnt siena, yellow ochre, viridian green, and soft blues fill these scenes with warmth and invitation.

The Giving Game Series

As an enneagram two who has (and does) struggle with giving from a healthy place. These greenhouse scenes act as a reminder to maintain personal awareness and nourishment while having a giving spirit.

The Study Abroad Collection

In the summer of 2023, I studied abroad in Tuscany, Italy with my college. These works commemorate the journey through washed acrylics and oils.

Inherited From You Series

I’m so grateful to have been raised in a southern family for many reasons, one being the immense hospitality led by women from generation to generation. Recipe cards and old photos scatter across these lace curtains telling a story of gathering and community.

The Redemption Collection

Although this collection is not about Christmas, the song “In The Bleak Midwinter” summarizes the feeling I was trying to capture being redemption in deep moments of grief. These coastal moody scenes combine these feelings of struggle with a sense of intercepted peace.
